Each year dozens of talented scholars who have just completed their doctorates, or will soon do so, apply for Lilly Postdoctoral Fellowships in Humanities and the Arts. Only three fellowships are awarded, yet many of the other applicants are highly qualified. To assist applicants who have a demonstrated interest in positions in church-related colleges and universities become known to Lilly National Network institutions that may be seeking such fresh teacher-scholars, we publish an on-line Directory of Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship Applicants. The complete application file of each person listed in the directory was reviewed by members of the LFP Selection Committee, and deemed qualified for positions in church-related institutions. The information on academic areas of interest or teaching competence in the directory was supplied by the applicants themselves. Each university and each department has its own goals, but all LFP Network institutions have sought ways to deepen the connections between the academic vocation and their institutional missions. One way of doing so is by interviewing and hiring new faculty well disposed to those missions. We hope that this information might help National Network Schools identify such people.
